We are feeling inspired by Lamorinda resident Lucie H. She recently saw a family sleeping in their car and stopped and asked if they needed help. The family of 7 had been sleeping in their car for 8 months and would eat, sleep and drive to work every day. Lucie felt compelled to help, so she sent out a post on social media and the Lamorinda community answered. In one week, Lucie was able to raise enough funds to put this family of 7 (mom, dad, and 5 children under 10 years old) into a hotel for two weeks, got them new clothes and food, helped the parents get new jobs, a newer car that fit everyone, and assisted them with a move to a new apartment.

Grateful Gatherings also reached out to support them with furniture. With the help of Chipman Logistics and other generous donors, they were able to obtain many furniture items but are still in need of some basic essentials to help this family of 7.
