DGT: What was the inspiration behind Honey Homes?

Vishwas: Hiring a handyman or tradesperson that is reliable, responsive, and high quality can be hard! And if you do find that someone, they are often already booked for weeks or won’t come out for small jobs, making it a frustrating process to get things done.

DGT: What are the typical projects that a Honey Homes handyman can tackle?
Vishwas: We hire our handymen as full-time employees, which allows us to vet them thoroughly for both skill and customer service. Your dedicated handyman can handle everything from adjusting doors or hanging a photo gallery for you, to electrical, plumbing and small carpentry repairs. Based on our data, our handymen can tackle and complete over 95% of member-requested tasks. If there’s a task that pops up that requires a specialist, we’re happy to help coordinate the work for you, which we pass through at our cost.
We also offer helpful perks that make living in your home easier, such as free box breakdown or e-waste pickup. Honey Homes also features partner offers for things you’d like to get done around the home but never get to, such as window washing, carpet cleaning, HVAC tune-ups, and more.
DGT: Honey Homes was started in Lamorinda, what is the importance of being connected to this community?
Vishwas: There’s nothing quite like our Lafayette community, and we are so grateful every day for the support and encouragement from our friends, neighbors, and community. We launched Honey Homes with 15 families in Burton Valley - where we live with our three elementary school-aged boys - and could not have grown to where we are today without our neighborhood’s support.
