We hope you had an incredible holiday season with family and friends. A highlight for me was our annual Christmas Eve Lafayette Reservoir walk with a group of local families that have gathered since we had young children (many of whom are now young adults). Nothing is better than seeing the joy shared as we reconnected. Being part of a true community is rare and wonderful. It is a big reason why generation after generation of residents choose to live and stay in Lamorinda.
If you are considering making a move in 2023, here are four tips for getting started:
- Define your big-picture goals
- Understand your financial objectives
- Call the Dana Green Team
- Together, we will outline the steps needed to achieve your goals
While you are busy getting started on the above items, we will continue to closely monitor the real estate market and the below four economic indicators that guide our advice to you:
- Mortgage rates
- The number of home sales
- Inventory levels
- Home prices
The subheading of a recent Inman news article by Andrea V. Brambila on 12/28/22 was, “Economists and other housing experts predict the market will be more balanced among buyers and sellers. Home prices won't change much while mortgage interest rates will continue to dip.”
Only time will tell if this is accurate, but it aligns with what we are seeing in the Lamorinda marketplace today. Low inventory, and a lack of supply, appear to be keeping our prices steady and very close to prices seen in the fall and spring of 2021.
As we have been saying for many months, if you live in the “Land of Reason” (fair), you too should find success as both a buyer and a seller in 2023. We can’t wait to be part of your journey this year.
