Have you noticed a change in your sense of urgency? As your agents, we sure have! With additional inventory starting to come to market, a steadying of list prices and interest rates, and what we are calling vacation distraction, Sellers are beginning to feel the need to list their homes yesterday. If you want to sell your home this year, it is important to balance bringing your home to market well, with a product you are proud of, and the need to move quickly. If your goal is to obtain top dollar, cutting corners isn’t the answer. We still recommend moving out of your house, pre-inspecting and doing basic prep work such as paint, flooring, lighting, and landscape. Call us today to start planning your exit strategy. It is a complicated process and takes a few months to do it well.
According to Redfin Chief Economist Daryl Fairweather, “Many buyers have backed away from the housing market and are waiting until more and better homes are listed.” Our advice, if you are a Buyer, don’t get overly confident as things could change in the blink of an eye. Competition could surge again when vacation season is over, and people understand their new work and commute patterns better. Interest rates are hovering around 3% and it is uncertain when they will tick up again. If this is a true lull, don’t take a break. We recommend you take advantage of less competition and ideal timing. This is the first time we have seen you get to breathe and enjoy the process in months.
Buying and Selling a home is a journey and we all love helping you every step of the way!
