The Flavors of Spring

Our local farmers’ markets operate year-round, offering the best bounty of every season. Yet springtime is when each is at its peak. Warmer weather encourages us to venture out, and friends and family gather to exchange greetings amongst the colorful flowers, fruits, and vegetables. The abundance of beautiful goods is an attraction, but it’s the camaraderie and sense of community that keeps us coming back. If you haven’t visited one of our local farmers’ markets lately, this is a great time to fill your pantry as well as your soul.

Moraga Farmers’ Market: Over 40 farmers and vendors set up every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm at Moraga Center and Moraga Way. You’ll find the freshest fruits, vegetables, baked goods, ready-to-eat lunch items, and creative beverages, such as a pluot fizz.

Orinda Farmers’ Market: In addition to fruits and vegetables, you’ll find cheese, ale, honey, and hummus made by local artisans, all within Orinda Village. Held every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at 10 Avenida de Orinda.

Diablo Foods and Tutu’s are Lafayette’s version of a farmers’ market. Produce and friends can always be found as you enter Diablo Foods, and Tutu’s selection of produce and prepared foods are always a favorite of the entire family.

Taste of Lafayette: Though not a farmers’ market, this is Lafayette’s favorite annual dinner party featuring friends, food, and entertainment. Held this year on Tuesday, May 17, the event includes a multitude of Lafayette restaurants offering menu samples to guests who stroll leisurely between locales. Purchase your tickets early. This fun event sells out quickly.
